Mac wake for network access

So not much help really TBH I don't even use the WoL functionality proper anymore with my Mac Pro because with an AE the process is completely transparent, I still use a WoL client to wake my Linux PC but not for the Mac anymore. I've never had any problems using WoL to my, wired, Mac Pro from my laptops but have never tried to wake a wireless device nor used an ATV. A quick google turns up plenty of results for this. WOL only used to work on wired connections but I've read that newer macs and newer OSes (since SL) can actually do it over wireless. Can't access this feature? If your Mac is part of a domain or a network, your domain administrator may have restricted some of the features and settings available on your MAC. On the computer you want to wake up, under System Preferences > Energy Saver, enable Wake for Network Access.
